Lightstar
she-cat, 32 moons, leader, WindClan
she-cat, 32 moons, leader, WindClan
appearance
Lightstar is a lightly built she-cat, with a wedge-shaped face and narrow brilliant green eyes. She is a golden-brown tabby with hints of gray on her face and back, with more gold towards her belly. Her underside and inside of legs are a creamy white, and there are broad brown stripes on her tail.
reason for name
Her mother thought her pelt was the soft color of morning light.
personality
Lightstar is strict and reserved, ruling with discipline in one paw and fairness in the other. She doesn't like bouncing around and annoying others, and talks only when she feels like there's something to say. When a cat acts up she is quick with justice and punishment, though not unfairly. She doesn't tolerate Out of Clan affairs, or breaking the warrior code. Lightstar has a magnetic personality that draws other cats toward her, using that to influence others decisions when needed. She's an intelligent she-cat who strikes Clans at perfect timing, and loves coming with hunting/battle strategies. She's a natural born leader, which her mentor realized- but he had quite a time channeling it within her, as she hated being corrected. Lightstar is unfortunately grudging, and when a cat makes her mad, she often stays mad. She doesn't like other cats being better at her in anything, though she tries keeping to herself, even though she likes being the best at all.
history
Lightstar's mother died kitting her and her brother, Falconheart*. They were raised lovingly by another queen, and Lightstar's father was very supportive and encouraging toward them. As an apprentice her mentor trained hard and was a no-nonsense cat, so perhaps Lightstar got that from him. He taught her discipline and leadership, yet fairness. Lightstar often resented him, though later she realized how much he had helped her. As a warrior she worked hard at everything she did, yearning to be the best. She secretly wanted praise and admiration for what she did, though on the outside, she was just a quiet and efficient cat. Her apprentice, Flamepaw, died of greencough. Lightstar was struck with sorrow, but moved on. Eventually Breezestar noticed Lightstar's efforts and natural leadership, so he appointed her deputy after Leopardwind died. Many cats were shocked since Lightstar (at the time, Lightfur) was so young, but in time they decided she was an alright deputy. Lightstar was proud of her new position in the Clan and hustled to improve it by making them work harder. (Of course.) Breezestar then lost his last life in a battle, and Lightstar rose to the spotlight, determined to show the other Clans what she could do.

Lightstar and her patrol studied the ThunderClan cats flowing over the slope, heading for WindClan territory. Her green eyes narrowed as her mind ran through various strategies. "Surround them on both sides and shove them down the slope. We'll have the advantage if we're attacking higher up." The warriors around her nodded and whirled into action, accelerating towards the ThunderClan cats.
A heavy black tom bowled over Lightstar, forcing her light frame over. They tumbled over in a cloud of dust as she fiercely clawed him, the ThunderClan stench overwhelming her nose. A feral snarl ripped out from her throat as she slashed his ear, feeling satisfaction as her claws slipped a notch into it. He slammed her head and she crumpled to the ground, immense pain washing over her. Lightstar quickly scrambled to her feet and darted past his side, scoring blood on his hind leg. Hopping onto his back, she battered him with her powerful legs and clawed his head. The tom yowled in defeat and raced away, leaving Lightstar panting. She surveyed her surroundings and saw the WindClan cats standing victorious. A purr broke from her chest. The battle was won.
